AI Music Explorer
This web application allows you to explore music using AI (artificial intelligence) technology. You can either record yourself singing or playing an instrument, or upload a recording made on another device like a phone. We never store your recordings or use them to train AI models.
The AI Music Explorer was developed in 2026 by Dr. Huw Cheston from the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary University of London, as part of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council project AI Skills Through Music. The principal investigators were Dr. Iran Roman and Prof. Paul Curzon.
The source code is available free and open-source on GitHub. The example recordings are taken from the Free Music Archive and are distributed here under the terms of the CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 license. Full attributions for each recording can be found at this link.
